Living Room

Our house has a very casual layout. It's a 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, with a greatroom and a den. We bought a new sofa a while ago, and just this past weekend we managed to find some end tables that we liked. So, for your viewing and/or vomiting pleasure, I now offer pictures of our completed living area. First is the sofa itself. It's not as wide as a standard 3-person sofa, but not as narrow as a loveseat. Chris has always wanted a lounger, and I preferred something with an ottoman, so we each got what we wanted. It's got lumbar support and is very comfy. The picture makes it look pink, and while there's nothing wrong with pink, it's actually a red terra cotta. Sofa Next are the end tables. Chris found this library ladder and thought it would be more interesting than a garden-variety table. Although the top is narrow, we plan to add a piece of glass to the bottom step so it has a full-size shelf. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting I found a small round end table that I liked. It goes well with the ladder table and the copper inlay in the top brings in the green from the chair. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting And there you have it: our completed living area. You can see from the picture we have a teak bar table behind the sofa. That's our "dining room." Behind that is the kitchen. Other than the den and bedrooms, that's our house. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting I hope you enjoyed this tour. Please remember to stop by the gift shop on your way out, and enjoy the rest of your stay!

Love the ladder table. The top step is perfect for setting your drink on as you relax to watch whatever porn has been pooped in the DVD-player.

Very nice digs! The chair actually did look tera cota on my pc. And the pictures were definitely for viewing pleasure. I love your layout. Nice color coordination and space usage. I like the ladder table and the copper topped one. too. I think it is neat that you have two different but coordinated tables. (ByG, you'd think I had a stain of Genuine Gay in me from those comments!)

[BTW, the postcards were stunning! I had trouble deciding which ones to get to keep and which ones to send to friends. The kitsch was a bit over-priced, though. :) ]

Thank goodness I wasn't the only one that prefered Kevin and Lemuel's "typo". And I don't think it is a Freudian slip if you did it on purpose.

I love big open "great" rooms in houses. I wish mine had one.

I love the sofa! What a find. ANd the round table is my favorite of the two...the ladder is great but the round one has a great top. The place looks very warm and inviting. Way to go.

Uh one thing honey... You know we're not done yet, right? I'm thinking we need something for that corner, and a round rug under the round table, and, and...

Are you ever really done decorating (or maintaining, for that matter) your house???

the sofa looks very 'nesting'
I can vision a bunch of blankets, a bowl of popcorn and a cuddle.

OK.... I love the terra-cotta sofa and two ottomans! What a great idea! I am also glad to see that I am not the only one that likes placing things on angles...

A round rug under the teak and glass table also sounds nice... You and Chris definately have "the touch"...

I have been out of florida for 8 years, I forgot about tiled floors! too cold for VA :o(

The sofa is really nice and the color on my screen is perfect, not pink. I love both tables. That ladder would be something I would have gotten myself.

What's infront of the sofa, TV, fireplace...???

We need a view from the kitchen.

I don't think that sofa is big enough for me to sleep on when I move in with you guys.

You could have been a little more considerate when buying a new sofa. Just sayin'.

Your place looks very nice and the couch very comfy.

But I need to file a complaint about your gift shop staff. I was asking for a sticker for my rear window, but they wouldn't give me one unless I buy two mugs with your end tables printed on. Anyway, found some nice fridge magnets in the shape of your sofa instead.

Hey, nothing like comfy loungers! I think I might be planted in the prone position on that sofa. Good 'romping' coverage. LOL!

Thank god for wipable surfaces. God knows the sliding around you and the honey do ;) Then it's a simple pass over with a sponge and when mom pops round for a visit she's none the wiser.

btw love the color. Would look great on my saltillo tile floor.

The step ladder is a cool idea. The addition of the glass on the bottom will make it look even cooler. Teh sofa looks like a wonderful place for a couple to rest from a day's hard work.

Have you had sex on it yet? Sorry, just had to ask.
:D

I love the copper inlaid table! I also really love the terracotta colour of your new sofa and ottomans. The step-ladder is cool but wouldn't work here. My boys would use it as an easy access climbing tool ... :)

Thanks for sharing. I can tell I'd feel right at home ...beauty, comfort, belonging...
